Activa Parkinson’s Control Therapy treats bilateral symptoms of Parkinson’s disease with bilateral stimulation using two systems—each consisting of a neurostimulator, an extension and a lead—all implanted under the patient's skin.

In Medtronic clinical studies, Activa Therapy reduced dyskinetic "on" time by an average of 2.8 hours in STN patients and 4.2 hours in GPi patients (data on file at Medtronic; includes only patient data that were fully verified against medical records):
