Search AV™+

Medtronic EnPulse® Pacemakers include Search AV+, designed to reduce unnecessary ventricular pacing in patients with intact or intermittent AV conduction.

Search AV+:

  • Designed to proactively search for, uncover, and utilize intrinsic ventricular activation

  • Automatically analyzes conduction sequences and gradually increases the paced and sensed AV delays until intrinsic ventricular activation is uncovered. A programmable maximum offset allows the titration of search limits.

Search AV+ example showing ventricular pacing (VP) persisting at an AV delay of 180 ms. The AV delay is automatically extended during the search and uncovers intrinsic ventricular activation (VS) at about 190 ms.

  • Easily evaluated on the Quick Look™ II screen; detail provided with an automatic Search AV+ histogram

Recent studies suggest that chronic right ventricular pacing is associated with a variety of adverse effects in patients, particularly those with intact or intermittent AV conduction. Further, reducing unnecessary ventricular pacing with Search AV+ may improve device longevity1.
