Mode Switch for Pacemaker Patients with Atrial Fibrillation

Clinical Issue
Atrial arrhythmias are common in patients with pacemakers. About half of patients with Sinus Node Disease (SND) and AV Block (AVB) have or will develop atrial fibrillation.

Atrial fibrillation (Afib) is highly prevalent in the bradyarrhythmia population. AFib increases over the lifetime of a pacemaker.1

Medtronic Kappa® Solution
The Medtronic Kappa® Series 700 pacemakers also provides expanded, quick, precise mode switch algorithm that reduces patient symptoms associated with Afib during pacing...and patients feel that difference.

It also provides expanded diagnostics to monitor atrial arrhythmias.
