Sixty-two percent of people with spinal cord injury (SCI) from cervical or thoracic injury reported having spasticity; 12% reported having spasticity so severe that it interfered with activities of daily living.³⁷ Symptoms of spasticity may be correlated to the level of injury and classification of SCI.³⁸

Managing spinal-origin spasticity with Medtronic ITB Therapy (Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy):

• Results in significant decrease in Ashworth and Spasm scores^{9,10,32,34,35,40}
• Results in improved function, as shown by statistically significant improvement in FIM scores^33,35
