The Micro Jewel II device employed a new detection feature, the EGM Width Criterion, designed to reduce inappropriate therapies due to SVTs. The criterion evaluates QRS morphology to discriminate between narrow- and wide-complex tachycardia. In a clinical trial, the criterion demonstrated the potential to increase VT detection specificity by 88%.
