Every person living with a tachyarrhythmia has unique physiological conditions with unique physiological needs. Medtronic silicone, steroid-eluting ICD leads are designed to meet those needs by offering the clinician choices: passive or active fixation, single- or dual-coil, and multiple lead length options.

Steroid elution, a standard feature of Sprint leads, is an important part of maintaining low pacing thresholds chronically. Low thresholds allow clinicians to program low pacing outputs.

Since reliability is a high priority when choosing a lead, Medtronic offers the Tachyarrhythmia Product Performance Report, a prospective, long-term, multicenter study which contains chronic data on almost 9,000 Medtronic ICD leads. (Available free from a Medtronic Representative.)
