Sudden Cardiac Arrest Patient Stories
Friday
the 21st of April was no different than any other day for Carolyn Holt.
But while driving home from work, she lost consciousness, crossed several
lanes of traffic and hit the guard rail. When Carolyn was pulled from her
car, she had no pulse and was not breathing. She had suffered a sudden
cardiac arrest. Fortunately, someone who stopped to help had an automatic
external defibrillator in
his trunk. After two shocks, Carolyn’s heart began beating again
and she started breathing. “High fives” were shared among
her rescuers.
