Implanting the Model 5086 CapSureFix MRI™ Lead

General considerations for active leads fixation:

• Do not direct drive lead with fully seated stylet into resistive cardiac structures
• Number of pin connector rotations for helix extension can vary based on the lead path in the body
• Expect more rotations in tortuous anatomy
• Fluoscopy is the only reliable confirmation of helix extension
• Do not give the lead body one turn post fixation

Consideration specific to 5086 (compared to other CapSureFix Novus^® leads):

• Handling of the Model 5086 lead is comparable to other Medtronic active fixation leads¹⁴ with some differences primarily in stiffness and torque transfer due to it's unique design¹⁵
• The 5086 will require more pin connector rotations to extend the helix
• On x-ray, radiopaque icon identifies a SureScan^® lead
