Objectives:

  • Describe the risks associated with conducting an MRI on a spinal cord stimulation (SCS) patient
  • Acknowledge that MRI guidelines for conducting MR scans on SCS patients vary by manufacturer
  • Recognize the ability to conduct full-body MR scans under certain conditions on SCS patients implanted with a complete Medtronic SureScan™ MRI* system
  • Identify resources for preparing and safely scanning SCS patients implanted with Medtronic SureScan MRI systems under specific conditions defined in the labeling
  • Describe best practices for preparation of and performance of full-body MR scans for SCS patients with a Medtronic SureScan MRI system

Description: This continuing education course discusses the risks of conducting an MRI on patients with spinal cord stimulation (SCS) systems and introduces technology that addresses this risk.
