IMPLANTABLE PAIN THERAPIES AND BASIC PROGRAMMING OVERVIEW (1.0 CNE):

For: Allied Health Professionals (RNs, NPs) associated with physicians or practices specializing in pain management.

Objectives
:

  • Become familiar with spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and targeted drug delivery (TDD) including prevalence, cost, indications, benefits, risks, and patient selection considerations for SCS and TDD
  • Learn basic programming techniques used for therapy management

Description: The first part of the course provides an overview of spinal cord stimulation and targeted drug delivery including prevalence, cost, indications, benefits, risks, and patient selection considerations for SCS and TDD. The second part provides an overview of the basic functionality of the N'Vision clinician programmer.


TDD FOR CHRONIC PAIN DEVICE SELECTION, IMPLANT AND REFILL TECHNIQUE (1.0 CNE):

For: Allied Health Professionals (RNs, NPs) associated with physicians or practices specializing in pain management.

Objectives:

  • Become familiar with the SynchroMed II infusion system and implant procedure
  • Understand the process of refilling the SynchroMed II infusion system

Description: Provides an overview of the SynchroMed II infusion system components, as well as a step-by-step review of the implant procedure for intrathecal pumps. It also guides the clinician through the step-by-step process of refilling the SynchroMed infusion system.


ADVANCED TDD PROGRAMMING (1.0 CNE):

For: Allied Health Professionals (RNs, NPs) associated with physicians or practices specializing in pain management.

Objectives:

  • Understand the Flex Infusion mode for the SynchroMed II infusion system
  • Learn how to program the Flex Infusion mode

Description: Programming the Flex Infusion Mode for the SynchroMed II Pump provides an overview of the Flex Infusion mode — what it is, when to use and how to program.
