Insurance Coverage – Meniett Therapy

Medicare covers medically necessary Meniett® therapy. The device is considered durable medical equipment and is covered by Medicare nationally through the Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier (DMERC) reimbursement plan.

Currently, six managed care plans offer coverage for Meniett device therapy. Other insurance companies pay for Meniett device therapy on a case-by-case basis. Check with your insurance provider to see if you’re covered for this therapy.

Medtronic’s Meniett website has a sample letter of medical necessity and other reimbursement information you can discuss with your doctor.
