The day to day activities vary greatly, which makes the work extremely interesting. It differs from development strategies to manage the business activities on site with the staff. I participate in the AFS Quality staff meetings to set the objectives and develop approaches to meet our goals to be executed at the site level. With the AFS Quality senior director, I ensure that the Cryo site goals and objectives are in line with CRDM objectives. Other days, my work can be completely focused on excellence in execution while I support and coach my staff to ensure performance is achieved according to expectations.
I have clear objectives, challenges and opportunities to make a difference in the performance of our site, which motivates me greatly. My role and responsibilities as quality site leader allow me to work close to my supervisors, peers, employees and partners as we all work toward the goal of being the best-recognized catheter balloon manufacturer.
Medtronic executive management promotes leveraging technical expertise and they provide immediate support when requested. I have big challenges but I feel that we are working together as a team to reach our goals. I can discuss issues with my supervisors and I know I can count on their support.
Every day, I lead my team to continuously improve the quality of our products by taking actions that are within our sphere of expertise. Our patients deserve the most reliable product to ensure safe procedure and efficacy of the treatment. Behind every decision, we always ask ourselves: is it right for the patient?
We have twice doubled production capacity since 2008; the challenge is to maintain quality manufacturing with our suppliers and with the Cryo Montreal site. In parallel, we must develop manufacturing processes that have less variability and eliminate human factors while maintaining the highest level of compliance.
I build a team to support me and I learn to delegate. I try to define as clearly as possible the roles and responsibilities of my direct reports and my expectations. I let them develop their own strategies to reach the goals, and I let them know that I have confidence in them delivering. I don't micro manage. It is the only way to have time off on the weekend with my family.

We are aware of job postings being made by people who claim to be recruiters for Medtronic, even using Medtronic employee names, but who are in no way affiliated with Medtronic. We have also been made aware of people posing as Medtronic recruiters and making contact about job opportunities and extending job offers via text message, instant message or chat rooms. These job postings and offers are fraudulent.
Beware of recruiters that ask candidates to submit unusual personal information like bank statements or utility bills, pay a fee in order to be considered for a job, or pay "start-up expenses" after being hired. Medtronic does not require candidates to make any type of payment to them as part of the recruitment process or job offer. The Federal Trade Commission, the United States' consumer protection agency, has online resources for detecting job scams.
Positions posted on the Medtronic.com Careers site are legitimate. If you find a Medtronic posting on a site other than our careers site, verify its legitimacy before applying by visiting the Career Opportunities section of our site and searching for the requisition number.
