For the fourth straight year, Medtronic received the Clarivate Analytics Top 100 Global Innovator award.

For the fourth straight year, Medtronic has been named one of the world’s most innovative companies by Clarivate Analytics. The Clarivate Analytics 2017 Top 100 Global Innovator award honours companies based on the volume, success, protection and influence of their patents. Learn more about intellectual property at Medtronic.

The Medtronic Applied Innovation Lab is just one example of that commitment. Launched in 2015, the Lab, located in Minnesota, is a unique collaboration space, where teams of Medtronic employees, customers, healthcare providers and other partners work on solving healthcare challenges. The Top 100 Global Innovator award is based on four patent-related criteria: overall patent volume, patent application-to-grant success rate, global reach of the portfolio, and patent influence as evidenced by citations. Read the full report.

Clarivate Analytics crunches that data to identify the companies that are most successful at developing new inventions, protecting them from infringers and using these innovations to drive revenues.

The organisations in the 2017 Top 100 represent three continents and 11 different markets, with major innovation hubs Japan and the USA accounting for 75 percent of the list.
