Heart failure occurs when your heart isn’t pumping enough blood to meet your body’s needs. As a result, fluid may build up in the legs, lungs, and in other tissues throughout the body.

HVAD

In 2019, Health Canada authorized the HVAD System to modify indications to include destination therapy (DT) in patients with advanced heart failure who are not candidates for heart transplants. 

Worldwide, more than 18,000 patients have received the HVAD System since it was first approved in Europe in 2009
