In the next several minutes, I'll show you how to use your new MyCareLink Smart Patient Monitor and send your first transmission. In this video, we use an Android device. The steps are very similar when using an Apple device. So let's get started. The my CareLink Smart Monitor consists of a reader that is battery powered and a free app that's designed to work with your Android or Apple smartphone or tablet. The first step is to insert three AA batteries into the reader. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on within your smartphone or tablet settings. Now launch your browser. Go to MyCareLinkSmart.com and tap download. Depending on what type of smartphone or tablet you're using, the download button, will send you to either the Apple app store or the Android, Google play store for app installation. Follow the installation prompts within the app store. Consult the user's guide for your smartphone or tablet. If you need general information on how to download an app. Once you've downloaded the app to your smartphone or tablet, you'll open it and follow the prompts. Please accept the terms and conditions in order to proceed. Now press the green arrow button to continue. The app will prompt you to turn the reader on by pressing the gray button on the reader. Next, locate the numeric code on the back of your reader and enter the number into the app using the app key pad. This is the action that enables your reader to work with your smartphone or tablet. The app will prompt you to use Bluetooth to pair your reader to your smartphone or tablet. Tap okay on the screen to accept the Bluetooth pairing request. With that, your reader is ready for use. Now, place the reader over your heart device. While holding the reader over your device the reader will display a green light and the app will display a green progress bar that lets you know the reader is positioned correctly and receiving information from your device. When the reading is complete, you'll be prompted on the app to set the reader down. The app will indicate that your information is being sent followed by a check mark confirming that the transmission is complete. Tap the home icon to go back to the home screen, which now shows the date of your most recent transmission. At this point, you can exit the app. You don't need to send information again until instructed by your doctor or clinic. There's not an off button on the reader. It will turn itself off automatically so there's no need to push additional buttons. The reader will turn itself off when not in use for two or more minutes. That's all there is to it. Just follow the prompts on your app whenever you need to send information as instructed by your doctor or clinic. Please note that software updates are required for your reader on occasion. The updates will happen automatically upon opening the app. The following screen will appear. Please leave your smartphone or tablet near your reader until the software update is complete.
