Overview
Surgical repair of an ASD is a common cardiac surgery procedure in infants and children. However, the procedure is invasive and requires the patient to be placed on cardiopulmonary bypass, which carries inherent risks. This case study reports on a toddler with an ASD where surgical repair was required.
