I am a Marketing Manager in the Diabetes business unit, for Sweden and Iceland.
I have a Master of Science in Nutrition and have worked in both clinical and corporate settings before. The career path that led me to Medtronic was not a straight one, I have tried my hand at sales, at marketing and management, with local as well as global roles before.
One of the things that I like about working for Medtronic is that it is an established company with an incredible Mission statement. I see the Leadership team and all employees trying to live up to the company values every day. It permeates the culture, and that's something rare and very precious.
A most memorable experience was recently, when our new CEO Geoff Martha sent an email to all employees relating to the Corona crisis, after seeing reports of racism and prejudice against Asians and Chinese on the news.
He sent us all a clear condemnation against acts of bigotry and hatred and urged all Medtronic employees to stand in solidarity and lead with empathy and compassion. He reiterated that inclusion, diversity and respect are deeply embedded in our Mission and culture, and that this would never change. That email says it all, doesn't it?
