Disassembly – Reassembly:

Provides an in depth step by step instructional presentation on disassembling and reassembling.

Calibration Checks:

Provides setup including test equipment list and  Calibration instructions as found in the Technical Service Manual.

Output Checks:

Provides testing setup, test equipment list and detailed overview of the Output check section as found in Chapter 6 of the Technical Service Manual.

Always refer to the newest revision of the Technical Service Manual for required test equipment and all testing specifications.  Medtronic does not provide any test equipment or accessories to perform maintenance on the FT10 surgical generator.

Tools Required for Disassembly-Reassembly:

  • T-30 Torx Driver

Test Equipment for Calibration:

  • 5 Ω and 5 KΩ, 250 W, 1% tolerance, non-inductive resistive loads​
  • Current transformer - Volt per Amp equal to 0.10 with 10 MHz Bandwidth​
  • True RMS meter​
  • High-voltage differential probe set at 1000:1 attenuation​
  • REM plug​
  • Banana-plug style cables ​
  • Alligator clips (if needed)​

Test Equipment Required for Output Checks:

  • Electrosurgery Analyzer (Medtronic uses the ESU-2050 from BC Biomedical)
  • External test loads,  50 Ω, 100 Ω, 200Ω, 300 Ω, 500 Ω, all 250 W, 1% tolerance, non-inductive resistive loads
  • BNC Cable and Pearson 411
  • Decade Resistor Box
