What are the surgical risks?
Heart device implantation is a routine procedure, but there can be complications. Risks can include, but are not limited to, infection, bleeding, punctures to the lung, heart, or vein during lead insertion, swelling and bruising at the implant site. Risks of a leadless pacemaker include surgical complications, pacemaker syndrome, and/or failure to deliver therapy as needed.
Talk to a doctor about these and any other risk factors based on device and medical condition.
