Will the doctor know when an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) sends a shock?
Doctors and the clinic will know if a shock is sent. The ICD will record and transmit this data automatically, if connected to remote monitoring technology. This allows the proper medical personnel to follow up and advise on next steps. If not connected to remote monitoring, the ICD will record the shock and the doctor will be made aware at the next check-up.
