OLVG Amsterdam

At OLVG Amsterdam, Arctic Front Advance™ Cryoballoon procedures are performed by one electrophysiologist, one nurse, and one technician. To help optimise the procedure, the team implements a consistent time-to-isolation guided dosing protocol and a standardised approach to procedure preparation and patient turnover.

To further improve procedure efficiency, the console is operated by the EP and an auto injection pump is used for saline and contrast delivery.

The team performs four Cryoballoon ablation procedures per dedicated “cryo day”, with an average procedure duration of 55 minutes. To help ensure the highest standard of care for their patients, the team tracks outcomes for each AF ablation procedure performed at the hospital, including Atrial Fibrillation Effect on Quality of Life (AFEQT) questionnaire data.
