DESCRIPTION

This Clinical Immersions (CIs) aims to spread the knowledge about the laparoscopic and transanal rectal surgery, including its procedures, technology and recommendations. The procedures included in these courses are:

This Clinical Immersions is very appealing for surgeons who want to develop their  knowledge and technical skills in the safest way to handle a patient and improve patient outcomes. 

Each course includes:

• Live surgeries
• Lectures
• Discussion of the cases

AUDIENCE

Surgeons specialized in colorectal surgery who want to move forward to more complex minimal invasive techniques. To attend this course, the unit volume of complex cases should be a minimum of 20 cases per year. Ideally 2-3 surgeons per unit to take part in the training program. Ideally some experience in transanal approaches (can be TEM, TEO or TAMIS) and Ideally some experience in intersphincteric resection and handsewn/stapled colo-anal anastomosis.

OBJECTIVES

This 2-day course will provide participants with the required skills and knowledge for performing laparoscopic and transanal TME.
