
DESCRIPTION
This educational program gives the participants the opportunity of learning the advanced technique TaTME from the professional who performed it for the very first time.
The faculty is considered, worldwide, as one of the pioneers in gastrointestinal surgery; he has performed more than 15,000 surgical procedures using laparoscopic surgery.
During this 2 day course, the participants learn about tips and tricks of TaTME through:
- Interactive sessions
- Video analysis
- Hands-on training on human cadaver or animal
- Live surgeries
AUDIENCE
Colorectal surgeons (or general surgeons with a dedicated colorectal practice) experienced in laparoscopic and/or robotic TME (>20 cases per year) as well as transanal endoscopic surgery (TEM and/or TAMIS) and advanced anorectal procedures.
OBJECTIVEs
Increase knowledge on bottom-up minimally invasive surgery techniques for the treatment of rectal cancer. In-depth teaching through live surgery observation. Learn about procedure, patient selection, operative set up, perioperative care. Technical steps and possible pitfalls of TaTME.
