
DESCRIPTION
An intensive, individual 2-day workshop where colorectal teams (2 surgeons + 1 scrub nurse) have the opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills in the field of TaTME procedures.
The format of this training includes:
- Interactive sessions
- Video analysis
- Hands-on training on human cadavers
- Live-operation
AUDIENCE
Colorectal teams (surgeons and nurses) who want to take their first steps in such an advanced technique as TaTME. To attend this course, the unit volume of complex cases should be a minimum of 20 cases per year.
2-3 surgeons per unit to take part in the training program also 1 nominated theater nurse per team. Ideally some experience in transanal approaches (can be TEM, TEO or TAMIS) and Ideally some experience in intersphincteric resection and handsewn/stapled colo-anal anastomosis
OBJECTIVEs
The purpose of the course is to learn and share knowledge in this field. An experienced European colorectal faculty will share their expertise about procedure, patient selection, technical steps and possible pitfalls of TaTME over a 2-day course.
