DESCRIPTION
Coronary Nurse – CathLab: The Basics is a complete course that covers the basics of the treatment of patients undergoing PCI, from admission to discharge.
This learning pathway consists of nine online training modules and four knowledge checks, followed by a two-day practical course with hands-on workshops on the simulator, on wire, on balloon & stent 2D model.
Participants can only access this course after completing the online course. Attendance is limited to small groups in order to provide each participant the opportunity to meaningfully and actively engage with the faculty.
AUDIENCE
This course is specifically designed for Cathlab teams (nurses, technicians, etc…)
OBJECTIVE
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Understand the objectives of coronary angiography and intervention
- Evaluate the risks and benefits of treating (or not treating) a patient with Coronary Artery Disease
- Understand the basics of ECG & haemodynamic monitoring
- Understand how to get the best views while maintaining safety for the patient and operator
- Understand the optimal materials for diagnostic and interventional cases
- Understand the importance of risk factor modification, patient education and communication
