The Riga Stroke Centre and the department of Interventional Radiology services the 2.5 million inhabitants of the city.

The department of Interventional radiology ran by Prof Karlis Kupcs and Dr Helmut Kidikas performs a total of 2,400 endovascular and interventional procedures per year, supported by Prof. Maija Radzina, the head of the Radiology department.

Riga is the capital of Latvia and is the largest city in the country. Moreover, it is the largest city in the 3 Baltic states and home of one third of Latvia’s population. The city has a rich cultural heritage and its historical center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

FORMAT 

For the Stroke Academy Module 2, 15 participants will be completing their training at this centre for a duration of 1.5 days.

Arrival is on the evening prior to the first day.

Arrival is planned for lunch time.

Departure the following day.

PREREQUISITES 

Learners must have completed all modules leading up to this session in order to participate in Module 2 (On-site).
