CONTENT AND FORMAT

This educational programme addresses the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and covers techniques and topics such as complex pediatric deformities, anterior tethering, VCR and iliosacral fixation.

The incidence of the sagittal balance in the treatment of this group of patients will also be discussed. 

The format will include expert’s opinion and lectures cases presentations.
During the interactive plenary sessions, the participants will discuss patient’s selection and treatment options. 

Demonstrations of the surgical techniques will be performed during the anatomical workshop. 

Attendees will get the opportunity to discuss in small groups and to practice all presented techniques under the supervision of experts at the laboratory.

Audience

This intermediate training is dedicated to spine surgeons experienced in the treatment of adult scoliosis, having at least 2 years of practice for this type of surgery, and willing to reinforce their knowledge by interacting with adult deformity experts and peers.

This course will allow the participants to strengthen their knowledge and expertise in the treatment of more complex cases and techniques. Attendees should perform between 15-30 deformity cases per year.

Objective

By attending this course, participants will:

  • Be able to select the appropriate solutions and techniques
  • Reinforce treatment options competencies for treating this group of patients including sacral junctional pathologies
