Medtronic Bakken Research Center Powerhouse of Innovation

The Bakken Research Center (BRC) of Medtronic, established in 1987 in Maastricht, is a significant center for research and innovation with a rich history and a diverse group of highly educated and talented employees. Originally starting with 45 employees, it now comprises over 360 international professionals representing more than 35 nationalities. Over the years, BRC has played a crucial role in generating many important innovations.

What sets BRC apart is the concentration of diverse specializations and expertise in one location. The center is divided into four main departments, each with its own focus: Technology & Innovation, Clinical Research, Global Translation & Localization, and Regulatory Affairs. Despite these departments operating independently, there is a strong sense of interconnectedness.
