Describe a typical day in your position.

I lead the manufacturing engineering and tool room teams at Brooklyn Park, MN that support equipment development and maintenance, production lines, and manufacturing systems. My typical day involves balancing my time between project planning, teaming with peers in strategic thinking, and driving continuous improvements in our manufacturing processes. The demands on my team adjust to the needs of our business and I must keep them fully engaged and focused on our goals. The emphasis on details, product quality, and robust processes clearly demonstrate the importance of our work and the impact we have on our patients.

What do you love about your job?

What I love about my job is that it's full of challenges, which is great, there's never a dull moment! Adjusting to change has created opportunities to rethink and innovate processes. The great part about of working at here is we collaboratively leverage each other's strengths, teaming together worldwide. Medtronic has provided me with great opportunities to learn from others and share ideas locally in the Minneapolis area and California, to team members in Ireland and China, all focused on the same Mission, aligned to serving our patients.

What is one random fact about you?

I grew up in southeastern Wisconsin on a dairy farm.

What advice would you give to job candidates?

Demonstrate adaptability and motivation, recognized when change is required, and be accomplishment-driven.
