Why do you enjoy working at Medtronic?

It was by chance that I joined Medtronic with my IT background. Years later I understand that nothing happens without a reason. I do believe there was a reason why I "met" Medtronic. With this in mind I try to live every day to impact life around me.

What is challenging about your job?

In the current state of country development we live in a very complex environment where regulations and rules change frequently. This instability makes our job very challenging and sometimes confusing. I believe keeping the right focus is one of the recipes of success. A great tool that helps me to keep focus is our Mission. I try to see real people and actual lives saved behind these simple words. This connection always inspires me to walk an extra mile as I know the reward will be unprecedented. Indeed, how many people out there can say "I work for a company whose product saves a human life every three seconds"? You do not need a better motivator!

How does Medtronic's Mission show in your day to day work?

In the last decade, healthcare in Russia has been going through significant changes. As an individual, I can choose to wait for the changes to happen. As an involved citizen and a Medtronic employee who is aware of how people can benefit from revolutionary therapies and products, I can drive the change. I can BE the change. It is great to see that the same philosophy is shared by my colleagues, and we are indeed a very enthusiastic and inspired team about how we make healthcare here different!

What do you appreciate most about Medtronic?

I believe that if you want to make an impact, you need to have a sincere interest in the world around you and be able to get excited about things. This interest will keep you going and make your life so much more rewarding. It will also attract great people to you who will enrich your own world. I was lucky to meet some great people at Medtronic. They were always ready with advice or support or a simple word of wisdom. There are not that many corporations where executives are so accessible and ready to share their experience with younger employees. Such interaction between generations creates an encouraging culture where you also want to give in return.

What do you love about your job?

When I interview people for Medtronic I am very happy to see passionate people joining our team. Over the years we have created a team who is supportive and collaborative, caring and fun to work in. The Medtronic team is recognized as a great team beyond just our office. This is a truly brand name team and I am happy that there is my input in it as well.
