As a global company, we understand the importance of disaster relief efforts and lending a hand to people and communities in crisis around the world. When natural disasters or severe weather strike, Medtronic steps up.
The company supports relief efforts through business and philanthropic response. We donate products, resources, and supplies to support relief efforts in affected areas. Equally important, we support employees’ response by offering each employee five days of paid time off per year to volunteer with a nonprofit or non-governmental organization (NGO).
The Medtronic Foundation plays an integral role in our disaster relief efforts, distributing grants to fund emergency healthcare and support repair of damaged infrastructure, encouraging employee volunteerism, and matching employee contributions to eligible organisations. In FY18 we:
Production at all facilities are operating at pre-hurricane levels.
Thousands receive water and electricity after Medtronic assists with critical repairs.
Medtronic creates havens for employees in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
Even workers dealing with severe home damage put patients ahead of their personal repairs.
Medtronic employees who lost it all in Hurricane Maria find strength in helping others.
Hundreds of Medtronic employees are battling through the aftermath of Hurricane Maria while also coming to work.
Medtronic is working with communities in Puerto Rico to help citizens in need and speed up the island’s recovery.
