Our efforts to create a powerfully inclusive and diverse workplace are essential to our purpose. We understand the benefits of diversity and inclusion in the workplace: a strong and united Medtronic translates to meaningful innovations that help our partners deliver better patient outcomes and contribute to human welfare.
Our Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Engagement (GIDE) team leads our effort to ensure our workforce, at every level of the organisation, reflects the world in which we live and work. To further accelerate careers of women and ethnically diverse talent, we have four Diversity Networks dedicated to helping employees succeed both professionally and personally. Our executive committee and board of directors support the GIDE team and Diversity Networks with resources. Medtronic also supports global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to foster an employee-driven approach to unite around a common identity and foster a culture of inclusivity.
At the end of FY18, Medtronic employed more than 86,000 people across 150 countries:
Medtronic is growing a culture of inclusion by building a sense of community, belonging and activation via Diversity Networks and ERGs.
Medtronic was recognised by others in the industry for its inclusive culture:
At Medtronic we are committed to providing opportunities for everyone regardless of gender. We want our teams to be diverse and balanced, and to represent the same wide variety of life experiences of our patients, healthcare professionals and stakeholders. We invest in professional growth, and believe in providing intentional development opportunities to all.
