GET BACK TO YOUR LIFE — WATCH RON’S STORY
Heart specialists have made huge strides in treating severe aortic stenosis and helping people get back to activities they enjoy. TAVR (short for transcatheter aortic valve replacement) is a minimally invasive treatment — meaning the heart valve is replaced without open-heart surgery. Potential benefits include:
- A shorter hospital stay
- Less pain
- Minimal medication
- Faster, easier recovery
Listen to patients explain how their lives have changed for the better with TAVR treatment.
Locate a physician near you to find out if you are a good candidate for TAVR. Many Medtronic TAVR patients report benefits like:
- Having more energy
- Being able to do everyday activities
- Breathing normally
- Experiencing less pain
- Feeling less anxious
Most patients start feeling better right away, although others take a little longer.

DISCOVER TAVR AS A TREATMENT OPTION AND GET BACK TO YOUR LIFE
One of the outstanding features of TAVR is that a physician can do the "replacement" without open-heart surgery, meaning the potential for:

LEARN ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF MINIMALLY INVASIVE TAVR Therapy
TAVR (short for transcatheter aortic valve replacement) is an innovative treatment. TAVR is less invasive than open-heart surgery. The doctor makes a small incision, inserts a thin, flexible tube into an artery, and guides the valve to your heart to replace the function of your diseased valve or failing surgical valve. Potential benefits include:
- Only a 1-2 hour procedure
- Faster, easier, less painful recovery
- Less medication
The TAVR valve is designed to start working right away. While most patients start feeling better right away, it can take a little longer for others. Many Medtronic TAVR patients report benefits like:
- Have more energy
- Breathe more easily
- Feel less anxious
- Be able to do every day activities again

Risks Associated with TAVR
Most medical procedures have risks. The Medtronic TAVR procedure’s most serious risks are: · Death · Stroke · Serious damage to the arteries · Serious bleeding. The Medtronic TAVR Valve should NOT be used for patients who: · Have an infection · Have a mechanical valve · Cannot take blood thinning medicines · Have a reaction to some metals · Have a reaction to some imaging solutions. If the Medtronic TAVR valve is used in the patients mentioned above, it may not work properly. This could make you feel very sick or even cause death. For some patients, the risk of the Medtronic TAVR procedure may outweigh the benefits. For more information on the risks and benefits of TAVR, download our patient booklet or talk to your doctor.
