MR imaging is a standard of care. Medtronic has long been committed to providing patients with access to this important diagnostic tool to enable appropriate treatment. With approximately 70 percent of DBS-eligible patients with movement disorders potentially needing an MRI within 10 years of receiving their device, only Medtronic offers DBS systems safe for the MR environment.*

Medtronic Activa DBS systems give you the power to order the diagnostic imaging you need, anywhere on the body. Whether for falls, many common comorbidities, or routine monitoring, you can confidently scan your patients, no matter the location. With the right diagnosis, your patients can receive the appropriate treatment. Today, you do not have to choose between DBS and MRI access — with Medtronic DBS, you can have both. Choose the promise of MRI access and help your DBS patients get back to their lives, sooner with this valuable diagnostic imaging.

Medtronic DBS systems are MR Conditional and safe in the MR environment as long as certain conditions are met. If the conditions are not met, a significant risk is tissue lesions from component heating, especially at the lead electrodes, resulting in serious and permanent injury including coma, paralysis, or death. Refer to the MRI Guidelines for Medtronic Deep Brain Stimulation Systems for a complete list of conditions.

ActivaTM SC Model 37602 is not eligible for full-body MRI.
