This unique program will take you beyond your academic curriculum. As an apprentice, you will network with Medtronic employees, learn how to present yourself professionally, and gain the fundamental skills you need to achieve your career aspirations in medical device sales.

Program Overview

HBCU apprentices participate in immersive, interactive workshops, learning about the power of medical technology and the fundamentals needed for a career in medical device sales. Topics include*: 

SALES SKILLS

Learn the fundamentals and process behind selling medical devices in the field.

  • Medtronic consultative selling (MCS)
  • Operating room etiquette

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Learn how to present yourself and how to build and nurture business relationships.

COMMITMENT

Apprentices who fully engage get the most from the program. The HBCU program requires: 

  • 10 hours over the course of the semester
  • Computer, internet and phone access
