If you feel like something is not right with your therapy, or you're not getting relief from your symptoms, you should call your doctor.
Call your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms or changes:
Our patient services department is here to answer your questions about your implanted system or treatment. As always, call your doctor for help with your medical care. Medtronic Patient Services can provide general educational information about Medtronic devices and answer technical questions about Medtronic devices and therapies. Call us at 800-510-6735, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
The patient manual covers your DBS system and treatment. You will receive a copy after your implant procedure.
Always carry a card that identifies you as having an implanted device.
Your doctor’s office will send Medtronic the information necessary for you to receive your patient identification card. This information is also used to track your implanted device, which is an FDA requirement. If your address, phone, or physician changes, you are responsible for updating your information on file.
Throughout your therapy, we provide your doctor and clinic with 24/7 technical support, training, therapy updates, extensive online resources, and a local Medtronic representative who is only a call away.
Whenever you need medical care for your DBS or an unrelated medical condition, make sure you tell the healthcare provider that you have an implanted Medtronic DBS system. Give the healthcare provider the name and number of the doctor who manages your therapy — it will be on your Medtronic Device Identification Card. If your doctor cannot be reached and there is an immediate need, healthcare professionals can call Medtronic Clinician Services at 800-328-0810 or 24/7 Technical Services at 800-707-0933.
