Job Openings
Where can I learn about current job opportunities at Medtronic?
Medtronic posts current job openings on our Careers website in the Career Opportunities section. Please select your geography preference.
U.S. Only: You can view current job openings by geographic region, specific location, job category, requisition number, and/or keyword to identify positions that match your interests. We encourage you to create a Candidate Account so you can save job searches and request search agents to notify you when new opportunities arise that match your skills and interests.
Which Medtronic locations have the most job openings?
As a global company, we have career opportunities around the world. Internationally, there are career opportunities in Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, Canada, Greater China, Japan, Asia, (Australia/New Zealand, South Korea, India and other Asian countries), and the Middle East and Africa, among other locations. We have major facilities in China, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, The Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, and Sweden.
In North America, major facilities include our world headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Ontario.
What if I want to apply for a position in a specific location?
For US and Puerto Rico Career Opportunities, you can apply by using the "Apply Now" or "Add to Job Cart" tab on the job description. If there are no current matches, you may submit your resume to our general database by using the "Submit Resume" feature on the Careers Job Search page.
For International Career Opportunities, you can apply by using the "Apply Now" button and your resume will be routed directly to those involved in the hiring decision. If there are no current matches, you may submit your resume to our general database by clicking on the “Apply now without adding a job” link on the Careers page.
What if I want to apply for a position in a specific country?
Medtronic attempts to recruit locally to fill its employment opportunities, but will consider applicants from other countries that are eligible to work in the country for which they are applying. Please review our US and Puerto Rico and International Career Opportunities for open positions worldwide.
I was on your website earlier and saw a posting, but now it is gone. What does that mean?
Current open positions remain on the Careers website while we are accepting applications. Generally, listings are removed from the website when there are strong applicants in the final interview stage, or when the opening has been placed on hold or has been canceled.
Applying and Submitting Resumes
What is the best way to apply for a job with Medtronic?
The best way to apply is to submit your skill-based resume in the Career Opportunities section of our website. You can do this one of two ways:
For Careers in the US and Puerto Rico:
- You can apply by using the "Apply Now" or "Add to Job Cart" tab on the job description. If you apply to one job at a time, you can submit a unique resume and cover letter for each position.
- If there are no current matches, you may submit your resume to our general database by using the "Submit Resume" feature on the Careers Job Search page, but it will not be associated with a specific position.
For International Careers:
- You can apply by using the "Apply Now" button and your resume will be routed directly to those involved in the hiring decision.
- If there are no current matches, you may submit your resume to our general database by clicking on the “Apply now without adding a job” link on the Careers page, but it will not be associated with a specific position.
Can I submit a unique resume tailored to each position in which I have an interest?
Yes. You may submit an individual resume and cover letter for each position you are interested in by using the "Apply Now" button on each job description.
I sent my application online and want to apply for a second job. Do I need to send in another application?
Yes. We encourage you to apply for each opportunity where you meet the basic qualifications of the position. Our electronic system will route your resume directly to those involved in the hiring decision.
How long will my resume remain in the Medtronic database?
Your resume will remain in our database for a minimum of 3 years.
US and Puerto Rico: If there is a significant change in your information, such as name and/or work experience, please resubmit your resume.
International: At any time, you can access and manage your personal data (update and/or change your profile in our database).
After Submitting Your Resume
What happens after I submit my resume?
You will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of your resume. A Medtronic representative will contact you if we determine your unique qualifications, skills, and experience are a match for our job needs. As you may realize, we receive many applications and wish to review each one carefully. This process may therefore take a few weeks, which we hope you will understand. Due to the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to respond individually to each candidate.
If you have applied to careers in the US and Puerto Rico, you can track the status of your application by logging in to your Candidate Account using the e-mail and password you provided. You should see one of the following status positions: Under Review, which means your resume is being reviewed by the hiring department; Not Selected, which means we have proceeded with a candidate that more closely meets the position requirements; or On Hold, which means the position is currently on hold and the staffing process will resume if and when the position is re-opened.
If you have applied to International Careers, you can run your saved searches on the Career pages, which will trigger the most recent jobs complying with your search criteria.
Does Medtronic offer informational interviews?
Unfortunately, we can't. We receive hundreds of requests for informational interviews each month. If you would like more information about Medtronic, our products, and the types of positions available, please review the information included on our website.
Search Firms and Agencies
What is Medtronic's position on search firms?
For US open positions: Medtronic does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or recruiting agencies. We ask that prospective employees submit resumes directly online in the US and Puerto Rico Career Opportunities section. If we seek the assistance of a search firm, we require a signed agency agreement and job order.
