Nonabsorbable Sutures

Dermalon™ monofilament nylon sutures are inert, nonabsorbable, sterile surgical sutures, which are available dyed blue to provide visibility compared to other nylon sutures.

Dermalon™ sutures are used in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

Monosof™ monofilament nylon sutures are inert, nonabsorbable, sterile surgical sutures, which are available either dyed black, with Logwood extract, or undyed (clear).

Monosof™ sutures are used in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

Surgilon™ braided nylon sutures are nonabsorbable surgical sutures composed of the long-chain aliphatic polymers and Nylon 6.6.

Surgilon™ sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

Surgidac™ polyester sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of polyethylene terephthalate. The tight, uniform braid provides greater resistance to breaking, kink-free suture delivery, and easier needle arming and dispensing.

These sutures show high tensile strength, both linear and knotted, providing:

• Maximum security in approximation of tissues under stress conditions
• Permanent support (tensile strength is retained indefinitely)
• Maximum security with prosthetic implants

Surgidac™ sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neural tissue.

Ti-Cron™ polyester sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of polyethylene terephthalate. These braided sutures are available uncoated or coated uniformly with silicone to increase surface lubricity, enhancing handling characteristics, ease of passage through tissue, and knot run-down properties.

These sutures show high tensile strength, both linear and knotted, providing:

• Maximum security in approximation of tissues under stress conditions
• Permanent support (tensile strength is retained indefinitely)
• Maximum security with prosthetic implants

Ti-Cron™ sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neural tissue.

Uncoated Surgipro™ sutures (clear or pigmented) are inert, nonabsorbable, sterile sutures composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene (a synthetic linear polyolefin) and polyethylene.

The advanced extrusion process of the polypropylene molecule gives the suture:

• Uniform diameter
• Maximum flexibility of the strand
• Excellent security with snug and flattened knots
• Minimal memory and reduced “pig-tailing”
• Consistent knotting strength

Surgipro™ polypropylene sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological surgery.

Novafil™ nonabsorbable monofilament surgical sutures are composed of polybutester fiber.

They are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

Vascufil™ coated, nonabsorbable, monofilament surgical sutures are composed of polybutester fiber.

Vascufil™ sutures are indicated for use as nonabsorbable sutures in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

Sofsilk™ sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile, nonmutagenic surgical sutures composed of natural proteinaceous silk fibers called fibroin. The braided sutures are available coated uniformly with either silicone or a special wax mixture.

Sofsilk™ sutures are for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.

Uncoated Surgipro™ II sutures (clear or pigmented) are inert, nonabsorbable, sterile sutures composed of an isotactic, crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene and contain polyethylene.

Stainless steel sutures are composed of 316L stainless steel conforming to ASTM Standard F138 Grade 2 “Stainless steel bar and wire for surgical implants”.

Steel sutures are the most inert among all suture materials and provide maximum tensile strength.

They are indicated for use in abdominal wound closure, intestinal anastomosis, hernia repair, sternal closure and also for certain orthopedic procedures (cerclage or tendon repair).
