Training and Education at Medtronic Bangladesh

Medtronic conducts wide range of clinical education and training programs for healthcare professionals to address capacity and awareness barriers, increase patient access to various therapies, promote therapy training and new implanter development. Medtronic Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd. has a unique therapy and procedure training center in order to promote therapy training and new implanter development, by leading an education program across all the businesses through Medtronic Medical Education with the goal of addressing capacity and awareness barriers and increasing patient access to therapy.

Medtronic has trained ~100 doctors on cardiac vascular, spinal, and diabetes therapies in the last five years—covering 30 hospitals across Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Sirajgonj, Khulna, Jessore and cities alike. In addition to this, Medtronic has recently launched modular training program called PREP (PacemakeR Education course for cardiology Postgraduates). The program has been designed especially for cardiology post-graduate students and junior cardiologists in local medical colleges in Bangladesh.

Medtronic Medical Education customizes curriculum for interventional cardiologists, radiologists, vascular and spine surgeons, MD physicians, diabetologists, and endocrinologists, hospital technicians and nurses. Programs are also designed for non-clinical stakeholders, such as policymakers, regulatory bodies, and insurance personnel who play a critical role in making advanced medical technologies available to the people.

THERAPY AND PROCEDURE TRAINING CENTER (TPTC)

Medtronic has a unique Therapy and Procedure Training Center in Dhaka. This center boasts of a simulator-based virtual catheterization lab for advanced interventional cardiology simulations. Hands-on training to doctors is provided on renal denervation technique, on implanting devices for the management of cardiac problems such as arrhythmias, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and aortic aneurysms. Interactive case-based discussions with renowned faculty provides physicians comprehensive understanding of therapy and patient management.
