Education & Training
India Medtronic conducts wide range of clinical education and training programs for healthcare professionals to address capacity and awareness barriers and increase patient access to various therapies. India Medtronic has trained ~18,000 doctors on cardiac, vascular, spinal, general surgery and diabetes therapies and products of Medtronic in the last three years.
For training and education on Medtronic products and therapies, customized curriculum is developed to address the educational needs of interventional cardiologists, radiologists, vascular, general surgeons, gynaecologists, oncologists, spine surgeons, MD physicians, diabetologists, and endocrinologists, nurses and technicians. Programs are also designed for non-clinical stakeholders.
THERAPY AND PROCEDURE TRAINING CENTERS (TPTC)
India Medtronic has two Therapy and Procedure Training Centers in Mumbai and Dhaka. These centers house a simulator based virtual catheterization lab, OT set up with a C-arm, saw bone models and navigation equipment for advanced interventional cardiology and spine surgery simulations. Hands-on training to cardiologists on implanting Medtronic devices for the management of cardiac problems such as arrhythmias, heart failure, coronary artery disease and aortic aneurysms is provided. Interactive case-based discussions with renowned faculty provides physicians comprehensive understanding of therapy and patient management.
MEDTRONIC INNOVATION CENTER (MIC)
Medtronic Innovation Center in Mumbai offers healthcare professionals training on advanced procedures and techniques in the field of general surgery, respiratory and neuro interventions using Medtronic equipment and technologies. It has the capacity to train more than 5000 healthcare professionals in a year and is committed to creating opportunities for them to have access to industry experts and a library that provides them access to latest medical content.
PACE EDUCATION & TRAINING PROGRAM BY MINIMALLY INVASIVE THERAPIES GROUP (MITG)
The Procedural & Clinical Education (PACE) Team of MITG business unit of Medtronic is committed to enrich the clinical community and enhance patient outcomes through training healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of Medtronic’s MITG devices utilizing procedural and evidence based medical education activities. These initiatives are delivered through a special platform, called PACE.
MITG PACE is committed to supporting a wide variety of clinical education programs for clinicians, surgeons, nurses, allied health personnel, fellows, residents and other members of the healthcare profession.
MITG PACE Advanced Training Programs have been established to provide opportunities for surgeons to receive the clinical and technical training they may require in order to perform advanced minimally invasive surgery procedures, such as laparoscopic gastric bypass and laparoscopic colon surgery.
COLLABORATION WITH CADAVER LABS IN INDIA FOR HANDS ON TRAINING IN SPINE SURGERY
Medtronic has partnered with a number of cadaver labs in India to provide spine surgeons hands-on training whereby surgeons can practice minimally invasive, deformity and disc replacement spine surgeries using Medtronic technologies.
COLLABORATING WITH CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE TO DRIVE INSULIN PUMP THERAPY ADOPTION
Medtronic has collaborated with Centers of Excellence (COE) in India to train doctors on Insulin Pump Therapy. Training is delivered through interactive lectures on insulin mangaement, case-based discussions and hands-on sessions for pump therapy and continous glucose monitoring for troubleshooting and complications management.
WEB-BASED LEARNING RESOURCES FOR CONTINUED EDUCATION
Medtronic Training & Education programs leverage IT to deliver innovative learning modules and content that widens the reach of our programs to our stakeholders.
