Product Details

The Situate™ delivery system is a powerful delivery room safety tool that can detect missing sponges within seconds, minimizing the uncertainty of manual sponge counts with one simple and intuitive system.

The Situate system is indicated to detect tagged objects, such as surgical gauze, towels, and sponges during a surgical procedure in order to aid surgical staff in the recovery of those objects before closing. The system is intended for use by trained surgical staff in a surgical setting and is intended to complement, not replace, established safety procedures to prevent retained objects.

The Situate™ delivery system is indicated to detect tagged objects that are used in labor and delivery procedures as an adjunct technology to manual counting, and addresses retained sponge prevention in one of the most vital arenas in modern medicine, detecting missing tagged sponges in patients and the delivery room.

The user-friendly interface offers on-screen prompts to ensure compliance and clearly indicates the presence or absence of remaining sponges.

Situate™ Delivery Scanner

Product Details

A non-intrusive, handheld tool designed to enable post-delivery vaginal scanning. The scanner is an adjunct technology to manual counting.

Situate™ Tagged Cotton

Product Details

The Situate™ system uses sensors to transmit non-ionizing, low energy radio waves to detect tagged cotton. When the tagged cotton is stimulated by the scanner’s signal, it returns a signal back to the console, instantly identifying its presence.

The signal strength is maintained up to 8 inches from the scanner (or up to 16 inches depending on scanner used) — making it an optimal solution for in vivo detection.

This product is intended to be used inside the body or a surgical incision to control bleeding, absorb fluid, or protect tissues/organs. Do not use the Situate™ system as a substitute for recommended practices for sponge counts prescribed to prevent retained objects. The system is intended as a supplement to standard counting practices.
