BIS™ Monitoring to Help Improve Anesthesia-Related Outcomes

With the BISx™ OEM module from Medtronic, BIS™ brain monitoring technology can be easily integrated into medical devices in a wide range of healthcare settings—from acute care monitors in operating rooms and intensive care units to preconfigured devices in ambulatory surgery centers or procedural sedation locations.

When you integrate the BISx™ OEM module into your anesthesia and sedation monitoring systems, you can offer your customers the industry’s most widely studied and published level of consciousness monitoring parameter. BIS™ technology can provide insight into the direct and patient-specific effects of anesthesia on the brain to enhance perioperative outcomes.

Product Technology

BIS™ brain monitoring technology advantages

Based on the scientifically validated BIS™ algorithm, BIS™ brain monitoring technology uses innovative technology to link patient-specific EEG information to the individual clinical state of each patient.

Clinical benefits of BIS™ brain monitoring technology

Anesthesia-related clinical benefits include:

  • Up to 23% decrease in anesthetic drug use([FOOTNOTE=Gan TJ, Glass PS, Windsor A, et al. NICE GUIDELINES RECOMMEND BIS™ MONITORING

"BIS™ monitoring is recommended as an option for all patients receiving total intravenous anaesthetic (TIVA). BIS™ technology is also cost effective in this patient population due to the inability to measure end-tidal anaesthetic concentration."([FOOTNOTE=National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence.
