BJCA device programming course 

This foundation level course is designed to prepare ST3-ST5 trainees with the ‘emergency device programming competencies’ to manage A&E presentations and critical troubleshooting in the device clinic.

Comprised of 4 x 90-minute interactive on-line live sessions, we will run through a variety of clinical cases ranging from basic use to using the programmer to perform emergency therapies.

BJCA device implanting course 

This 4-part hybrid course is designed to support the Cardiology trainee in developing competencies in cardiac device implantation and management.

The 4 x 90-minute sessions will include interactive discussions with commentary of an in-lab pacemaker and CRT implant case. There will be a special focus on the most important and hotly debated technical aspects.

This course is designed to build on the strengths of the Device Programming course and work through case scenarios using a simulated programmer and webinar polls on troubleshooting and managing complications of PPM and CRT devices.

Becoming a device specialist consultant

2 modules programme designed to provide intense hands-on training and theory around Medtronic device implantation, programming and troubleshooting. A great opportunity to discuss new technology, emergency scenarios and complex cases with your peers and experienced faculty.  Each module will involve topics relevant to becoming a consultant who will ultimately be heavily involved with cardiac rhythm management devices daily.

Programming course for specialist trainees

EV-ICD™ prep course

On this 1-day course delegates will identify patients indicated for the Aurora EV-ICD™ System; review patient selection criteria and implant contraindications

• Review current clinical data of the Aurora EV-ICD™  System
• Understand the key procedural steps for the Aurora EV-ICD™  System implant: pre-implant imaging, anatomical marking, access, tunnelling, lead placement, device pocket and testing performance using a simulator.
• Recognise implant situations that may require troubleshooting during any phase of the procedure
• Understand how to successfully set up the service and get started

Target Audience: The program is designed for cardiologists currently implanting ICD’s interested in starting EV-ICD™  in your hospital or from a hospital looking too learn more about Aurora to confidently refer patients to a nearby centre

Micra™ prep course

On this 1-day course, delegates will have all their questions about Micra™ answered. An extremely experienced faculty group will cover setting up service, patient selection, implant steps and troubleshooting, followed by hands-on practice on the simulator under the guidance of the faculty.

Target Audience: Consultant Cardiologists or final year SpR’s looking to learn more about implanting Micra™ and how to set up the service in the future.

Conduction system pacing for doctors

This course has been designed to help centres set up a new service or facing challenges to get started and wanting to learn more. This course will cover the CSP concept, recognise the different types of capture performed on LBBAP. Implant on a simulator following the recommended steps and recognise CSP implant success criteria, as well as identify LBBAP perforation signals and perform single and dual-chamber pacemakers with CSP

Micra™ implanter course

To begin implanting Micra, you must attend this training to be officially signed off. Ran by experienced faculty, you will learn about clinical evidence, patient selection, implant procedure and troubleshooting as well as hands-on practice on the simulators under the guidance of the faculty.

Please note: Mandatory on-line modules must be completed before you are invited to attend this training. Certain criteria must also be met therefore a nomination form must be competed and approved to ensure patient safety protocols.

Target Audience: Consultant Cardiologists or ST 8’s working in existing Micra implanting hospitals looking to start implanting Micra. Must be ready to implant immediately after the course.
