What is Smart MDI?

For people who manage their diabetes with insulin injections, Smart MDI helps alleviate the physical and mental effort required through an all-in-one solution that uses patients' glucose and insulin data to give personalized guidance. 

There are many reasons a patient may choose MDI therapy, and this system can offer some of the advantages of insulin pump therapy while still giving users the freedom of daily injections. The integrated Smart MDI system works together to help your patients take the guesswork out of insulin dosing.

Starting April 25, 2025, Medtronic will be discontinuing the sales of the Guardian™ Connect system, including the sensor and transmitter. The mobile app will no longer be available after October 24, 2025.
