I joined Medtronic in January 2020 for a medical sales internship which was planned for 12 months. I learned a lot during this period from product details to ethical behaviors. I joined Medtronic because I needed a field change and I believed Medtronic was a good opportunity for me to grow and learn.
After my internship as a Medical Sales Rep, I joined the Tenders and Pricing team as an associate Tender Analyst, with my primary duty to generate quotations and provide them to customers. I am also responsible for submitting quotations on EPS which is a bidding platform for government hospitals in the western cape region.
What I love most about my job right now is the learning experience I am getting, I am always ready to learn and I enjoy acquiring knowledge in new areas.
I also love that I feel part of an organization that impacts people's lives positively, although I am not meeting clients or patients, I do feel I am part of the whole process.
As a young adult who is fairly new to the work industry, I feel very lucky to have gotten an opportunity as my first job at a big company like Medtronic.
For my peers, I would recommend our company as it has developed me into the young man I am today who understands workplace ethics and is learning continuously.
