A device made by a competitor is designed to determine regional hemoglobin oxygen saturation of blood underneath the sensor, according to the manufacturer.([FOOTNOTE=NONIN Operator’s Manual Model 7600, Page 3, Cautions.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]) Its performance and accuracy of the device can be degraded or impacted if the patient’s CO2 levels are non-normocapnic (non-normal) or if there are other conditions that affect blood volume.2
