Invasive mechanical ventilation bypasses the natural mechanisms of filtration, humidification, and warming of inspired air. Maintaining heat and humidity during gas intake is necessary for the prevention of hypothermia and disruption of the airway epithelium.([FOOTNOTE=Restrepo RD, Walsh BK. The inspired™* humidification system is designed to warm and add humidity to gases delivered to patients. It provides optimized temperature and humidity for added patient comfort.†
The inspired™* heated breathing circuits feature dual spiral heated wire technology, which help prevent gas temperature loss and surface cold spots, minimizing rain-out.†
These heated breathing circuits are available in a variety of configurations, for both adult and infant patients, to accommodate any clinical need. And are suitable for use with a variety of humidification base units.
The inspired™* embedded heater wire breathing circuits offer:
Humidification of inhaled gases is the standard of care in mechanical ventilation. The ideal inhaled gases are between 34-degrees C and 41-degrees C, 100-percent relative humidity for active humidifiers. The higher the relative humidity, the warmer a surface temperature needs to be to avoid condensation.1
The inspired™* infinity circuits utilize an advanced two-spiral heater wire in the inspiratory limb, and Vent-X™* technology in the expiratory limb. Both are designed to help protect against condensate and ensure effective delivery of humidity to the patient.†
Vent-X™* technology is a unique module in the expiratory limb, incorporating a proprietary moisture permeable membrane, which allows excessive water vapor to diffuse out of the circuit. This reduces condensation in the expiratory limb and filter and minimizes the need for circuit breaking.
