Overview

Nellcor™ Pulse Oximetry

Nellcor™ pulse oximetry monitors are designed to meet your CCHD screening needs. Medtronic is the only company to receive FDA clearance for a motion-tolerant bedside pulse oximeter portfolio that is also compliant with ISO 80601-2-61 (International Organization for Standardization) standards for pulse oximetry.

A published study revealed an artifact in Masimo pulse oximeters, that increased saturation values of 87-90% by an additional 2%. In CCHD screening, an increase from 89% to 91% could mask some cases of CCHD, resulting in false negative screens with the Masimo pulse oximeters.([FOOTNOTE=Johnston ED, Boyle B, Juszczak E, King A, Brocklehurst P, Stenson BJ. Sensor First: Effective SpO2 Sensor Application

It is important to apply the sensor to the patient first to speed response time to post accurate data. Applying the sensor first can help reduce the monitor response to motion, light, or electrical interference.([FOOTNOTE=Saraswat A, Simionato LK, Dawson JA, Thio M, Kamlin O, Owen L, et al.
