Bladed Trocars

The advantages of the bladed trocar include a:

• Safety lock to inform user when blade is exposed
• Parabolic shield designed to retract over the blade once in the peritoneal cavity

Precise control and superior fixation are key features of the Autosuture™ locking trocar. Upon engagement, expanding mushroom-shaped stabilizer at the distal end secures the trocar firmly in place, leaving minimal cannula length exposed inside the peritoneum.

The Versaport™ V² line of trocars have a spring loaded parabolic entry shield which helps dilate tissue. Upon entry into a free space in the abdominal cavity, the shield advances to cover the blade reducing potential for injury to internal structures.
