The Nexpowder™* endoscopic hemostasis system delivers a hemostatic adhesive powder for the management of refractory and active GI bleeding sites.
The Nexpowder™* endoscopic hemostatic system is a noncontact, nonthermal, and nontraumatic hemostatic powder sprayed through a catheter, covering a large area without the need for precise targeting.1,2 As a hydrophilic biocompatible adhesive material, it is composed of succinic anhydride and oxidized dextran.2 The Nexpowder™* system forms the adhesive gel after making contact with the water or blood by reversible crosslinking. Crosslinked gel helps GI bleeding, loss of body fluid, and contamination of the ulcer site by adhering to the gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding site.3 The gel degrades within three days.1,2,4
